Refractory Raw Material

SINTERED ALUMINA

“ALUMINITE®” is a high-purity sintered alumina with over 99.5% Al2O3. It has a dense internal structure because it is pressure-molded using a dry process, dried, and then sintered in a rotary kiln at a high temperature close to its melting point (2,050℃). It has high thermal conductivity and melting point, making it resistant to thermal shock and abrasion. We also manufacture spherical sintered alumina called “ALUMINITE BALL.”
We offer a wide variety of particle sizes, so please contact us according to your needs.

ALUMINITE-37

This is a sintered alumina developed using a unique manufacturing method in 1971. By adding a small amount of MgO, abnormal crystal growth is suppressed, and it is a dense sintered body with few internal pores, controlled to have a uniform structure of 20 to 40 µm. Therefore, it is known to contribute to reducing moisture and densifying during kneading, especially in monolithic refractories, and to make it less susceptible to erosion by molten metal.

Features

  • High density
  • High mechanical strength

Applications

  • Shaped refractories
  • Monolithic refractories
  • Abrasives
  • Casting coatings
  • Refractory linings

ALUMINITE-SF

This is a round particle type ALUMINITE-37. Its chemical composition is the same as ALUMINITE-37, but the rounded aggregate gives it excellent fluidity and filling properties, and it is possible to further reduce moisture, making it possible to make monolithic refractories denser.

Features

  • Excellent flowability
  • Excellent filling properties
  • Round-shaped particles

Applications

  • Shaped refractories
  • Monolithic refractories
  • Precast blocks

ALUMINITE BALL

Its chemical composition is the same as ALUMINITE-37, but because it is spherical, its high fluidity means there is less unevenness when it is filled, and it also has excellent resistance to crushing.
It is mainly used in porous refractories (porous plugs, etc.), and is sometimes used as an abrasive.

Features

  • Excellent flowability
  • Sharp particle size distribution
  • High sphericity
  • Round-shaped particles

Applications

  • Abrasives
  • Porous plugs
  • Laying powder for firing
  • Fillers

ALUMINITE-S

This is sintered alumina with reduced impurities and increased Al2O3 purity.
In addition to being used as a refractory material, it has also been used as an aluminum filtration filter.

Features

  • Standard sintered alumina
  • White color

Applications

  • Shaped refractories
  • Monolithic refractories
  • Ceramic filter media for
    aluminum filtration
  • Fillers

ALUMINITE-S LOW-SODA

Like ALUMINITE-S, this is a calcined alumina with reduced impurities and even reduced Na2O.
Like ALUMINITE-S, it is also used as a filter for filtering aluminum.

Features

  • Low impurity content
  • High corrosion resistance

Applications

  • Shaped refractories
  • Monolithic refractories
  • Ceramic filter media for
    aluminum filtration
  • Fillers
